Pottery by Pat Lollar of Santa Fe, NM

Cookware that may be used on gas, electric, microwave, and camp stoves on top burners and in ovens.

Pottery made in the hand coiled method and of micaceous clay gathered from the hills of Northern New Mexico.

Micaceous clay bean pots, chili pots, and casseroles have been used for many years by the Native peoples of our New World. It is believed that the taste of the natural flavors of food cooked in these pots is enhanced more than when cooked in other types of cookware. With care, these pots will last for many years and generations.

My love of pottery was intensified over a period of twenty years while I was active in buying and selling Indian Art, especially pottery. My first hands-on experience working with Native clay was while attending a class in Appreciation of Indian Pottery given by the incredible Barbara Gonzales of the San Ildefonso Pueblo in New Mexico.

I learned to make pottery of Micaceous clay while attending classes by Felipe Ortega, a very accomplished potter of Apache descent from La Madera, NM. Felipe's beautiful pottery is available at Cafe Pasqual's in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

I consider myself as being very fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from and work with the Master Potter Christine McHorse, Navajo of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Ravens are often a part of the design in my work.

I make bean pots ranging in price from $350 - $1000.
